Come ogni anno, durante Gen Con, la principale convention ludica statunitense, vengono assegnagli gli Ennie Awards, i premi per i migliori prodotti del settore gdr lanciati sul mercato americano. Il premio, lo ricordiamo, è a votazione popolare e vanta tantissime categorie.
Ma un aspetto che ci fa piacere evidenziare, ormai da diversi anni, è la sempre maggior presenza tra i finalisti di opere di fattura tutta italiana, che spesso arrivano a conquistare le medaglie più ambite. Basti pensare che l’anno scorso Fabula Ultima, il gdr di Emanuele Galletto edito da Need Games, ha portato a casa il Silver Ennie come prodotto dell’anno e il Gold Ennie come miglior gioco.
Anche quest’anno i creativi nostrani si sono fatti notare, in particolare con Not The End di Mana Project Studio, Outgunned di Two Little Mice e Dead Air: Seasons di The World Anvil Publishing.

La bandiera italiana è stata quindi tenuta alta dai Two Little Mice che con il loro Outgunned si sono qualificati in due delle categorie più ambite (Miglior Gioco e Prodotto dell’Anno). Da segnalare inoltre l’oro per la Best Cartography di Dragonbane, curata in questa occasione dalla nostra Francesca Baerald.
L’asso pigliatutto di questa edizione degli Ennies è senz’altro Shadowdark RPG, di The Arcane Library, un nuovo esponente del mondo OSR lodato da più parti per l’ottima organizzazione dei contenuti che ne agevola parecchio l’usabilità e per diversi spunti di originalità applicati in un contesto comunque molto tradizionale.
